I was thinking about Mary a little bit this Christmas season. Before giving birth to Christ Mary said, "From now on all generations will call me blessed for the Mighty One has done great things for me-" and this has certainly come true thanks to the Catholic Church. There isn't another women in history that has been considered as blessed as Mary, albeit a little too blessed according to some traditions. This little peice of prophecy come true is for any to believe or scrutinize, and I'm wondering if there's any others?
The only other example I considered was Peter as the rock of the Church. All Christian churches derive their origin from the Catholics. The Catholics very seriously, albeit maybe too seriously, made Peter the head of their of their Church. And although it is now very splintered since Orthodox Christians took with them the Mysterium, Anabapists took moralism and naive childlike faith, and the Reformers took the Bible -albeit, albeit, and albeit- the Catholic Church and greater Christian churches are far from overcome. I think it's fair to say that Peter is the rock all Christian churches have been built on. Even if people keep leaving and taking the pews, altars, or whichever of their favorite parts with them. It's another prophecy fulfilled for any to see.

I showed my little cousin how a flint works tonight. I dismantled an old lighter, and then smashed the flint in the garage with a hammer. She was really impressed by the sparks, but I was more impressed by her than the volatile metal.

My mind has been so vacant for weeks now. Perhaps I just need a good book, or to go to some seminar. The trash I've been watching doesn't help either. A lot of movies like Invincible and Step Up have been in the house. These stories pulled my strings while the TV's light subjugated my vision, but depressed me upon reflection.
They're unstories. Plot is irrelevant. Idea is irrelevant. Theme is irrelevant. Comparisons with reality are irrelevant. The only thing relevant to an unstory is you: the viewer. Unstories send the viewer on an emotional walk around the block using the power of psycological design, the pervasive popular desire for self-empowerment, and a lot of capital. At the end, your own emotional upheaval was the point, and every part of the unstory was subservient to it.
A marionette's stage is built like a television so the crowd can't see the puppeteer. Which side of the stage are we on?
